Our Purpose

Tempus is a ministry for young adults in the Chicagoland area who live and love like Jesus with unabandonment. With opportunities to serve, as well as worship, interact and grow in community, Tempus is a community that exists to let loose a generation who are known by love, live by faith, and bring hope into a broken world.

The Breakdown

Tempus Core

Thursday night is a come-as-you-are worship experience geared toward energetic young adults who share a passion for growing together in the Word of God. The Core is designed to challenge you on both a personal and spiritual level and teaches you how to uniquely apply the Holy Scriptures to your life.

Tempus Crossroads

In Crossroads you can hangout, be yourself and grow in Christ with like-minded individuals through authentic communities. Community time is vital to the life of any ministry. It is important they we as believers and as the members of Tempus have closer more intimate relationships with others. Jesus Himself had an inner circle that He poured into and benefited from (Peter, James, and John). These smaller communities allow its members to be more transparent and open with the more intimate things in their lives. This time is for fellowship (true “koinonia”), prayer, devotion, accountability. “As iron sharpens iron.”

Tempus Collision

We are most like Jesus when we serve others. By showing intentional love for people, especially those who have been overlooked and forgotten by the world, we begin to have a greater impact on the world around us. We do not want to tip toe quietly into the world. We want to radically point others on a “collision” 
course with Jesus. This is best realized when we reach out to meet the felt need of the community to eventually meet the greater spiritual need of Jesus Christ.  "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat,"..."whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."
