I'm New to Tempus

Welcome. We realize that visiting a group can be uncomfortable and intimidating. It is our desire to make your visit as painless as possible. We are honored that you have chosen to check us out. The following are answers to common questions one might ask that is new to Tempus.

What is Tempus?

It is a non-denominational worship experience that meets at Midwest Bible Church. MBC is located at 3441 North Cicero Avenue Chicago, Illinois 60641. A come-as-you-are worship experience geared toward energetic young adults who share a passion for growing together in the Word of God. Thursday night is designed to challenge you on both a personal and spiritual level and teaches you how to uniquely apply the Holy Scriptures to your life.

What time do we meet? 

Thursday night. Tempus begins every Thursday at 7:00p.m. Doors open at 6:00p.m.

Where do I go?

Tempus meets in the church auditorium. Enter through the main entrance and take a left into the auditorium.

What do I wear?

Clothes. Tempus is a come-as-you-are, relaxed atmosphere. No need to put on your Sunday’s best. Come from work, home or from working out. We are just glad you came.

What happens at Tempus?

Worship - Sylvia Dabrowski, our worship leader, will lead us into the presence of God for a time of Spirit-filled worship through song, scripture, prayer and testimony.

Word - Pastor Dave will teach from the Holy Scriptures focusing on current issues facing our generation today.

We Time - As we see in Acts 2 community was a crucial part of the New Testament church. We were not created to be an island. Rather, we were designed for community. We see this not only in the birth and growth of the New Testament church, but in the relationship of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The “Trinity.” There is only one God, but in the unity of the Godhead there are three eternal and coequal persons, the same in substance but distinct in subsistence. They are one and distinct in their own right. There is both plurality and unity in one. One name, three facets. The same (Genesis 1:26; Isaiah 6:8; Matthew 28:19; II Corinthians 13:14). This time will be lead by Core leaders. Each table will have a Core leader who will facilitate discussion and prayer time.

I work until 6:00p.m.. How will I ever eat dinner and make on time?

The doors open at 6:00p.m. Come straight from work and hit the drive-thru on the way to tempus and bring your dinner in and eat with others.

What if I have questions when I arrive?

If you have any questions when you arrive at Tempus, feel free to ask one of our greeters. You will be able to recognize them by their big smile and welcoming personality. They are there to assist you in any way they can.

How do I meet people and get connected?

Get Involved. As we grow we will have many opportunities to connect with others.

Who attends Tempus?

People just like you. If you’re looking for authentic friendships and others who want more out of life than waking up going to work and returning home to prepare for another day of the same, then Tempus is for you.
